P&H - Virgo Composite Ultralight

The hull is the same proven design that made the Virgo a favourite: a V-hull that tracks cleanly and softens toward the centre for a stable, comfortable ride, with moderate rocker that builds speed efficiently on flat water and swings around readily on edge. Hard chines engage when you carve into a turn, the steep bow keeps hull speed honest, and flared bow edges shed chop and lift the boat over waves on the way out from shore. Bow deck geometry is engineered for stiffness during deep water rescues, a feature worth having when you're paddling remote Canadian waterways far from assistance.

The Ultralight layup is hand laid and vacuum bagged, then infused with a measured amount of vinylester resin. The result is an impressively stiff hull that carries and car-tops easily solo. It's ideally suited to inland lakes and light coastal conditions, though it's not the right choice for regular rock hopping. P&H's Connect outfitting system, split paddle recesses, a drop-forged anodised aluminium security point, a paddle park, and full deck lines and bungees complete the package.
